Television channels in Croatia must use visual graphic symbols shown as a transparent circle with the numbers 12, 15 or 18 in green, orange and red color for each number in the upper corner of the screen to mark the programs that are potentially harmful for the children. This is enacted in the Rulebook on the Protection of Minors in Electronic Media from the Council for Electronic Media. Providers of audiovisual media services are obliged to ensure that programs that are likely to harm the physical, mental or moral development of minors can be identified using visual symbols for the entire duration of their duration. Visual symbols refer to the following program categories and are applied in the following ways:

A transparent green circle with the green number 12 written on it:
The programs are suitable for minors over the age of 12 and may be shown from 00:00 to 24:00. The audiovisual media service provider is obliged to ensure that in programs that are not suitable for minors under the age of 12, an audio and text warning precedes: "Program koji slijedi nije primjeren za osobe mlađe od 12 godina. (The following program is not suitable for persons under the age of 12.)"
A transparent orange circle with the orange number 15 written on it:
The programs are suitable for minors over the age of 15 and may not be shown between 06:00 and 20:00. The audiovisual media service provider is obliged to ensure that programs that are not suitable for minors under the age of 15 are preceded by a text warning: "Program koji slijedi nije primjeren za osobe mlađe od 15 godina. (The following program is not suitable for persons under the age of 15.)"
A transparent red circle with the red number 18 written on it:
The programs are suitable for viewers over the age of 18 and may not be shown between 06:00 and 23:00. The audiovisual media service provider is obliged to ensure that programs that are not suitable for minors under the age of 18 are preceded by a text warning: "Program koji slijedi nije primjeren za osobe mlađe od 18 godina. (The following program is not suitable for persons under the age of 18.)"
If the programs are broadcast without an auditory and/or text message and/or without a visual symbol/graphic mark, it is understood that such programs are suitable for all ages.
