GP

GP was an old rating from the MPAA that replaced the M rating. GP means: All Ages Admitted - Parental Guidance Suggested. (Sometimes a disclaimer would say "This film contains material which may not be suitable for pre-teenagers") It was replaced in 1972, because some people thought it stood for "General Patronage" instead of parental guidance. This was used from 1970 until 1972, when it was replaced with the PG rating.
