Wolf Creek 2[]
The uncut version submitted in August 2013 received an R18+ for "high impact violence". There is extreme, realistic violence including blood and gore, decapitation, and dismemberment which would be high in impact. Scenes that warranted an R18+ classification:
- Mick Taylor killing two policemen (after the start of the film)
- Mick killing Rutger Enqvist (and subsequent mutilation of his body). Katarina looks at Rutger's head.
- Mick cutting off Paul Hammersmith's fingers with a saw, with graphic injury detail.
Four months later, a version shorter by two minutes received an MA15+ for "strong bloody violence and coarse language", with the above scenes edited or missing entirely in the MA15+ version.
Wolf Creek 2 was released in two versions on home video, the theatrical cut (MA15+) and the "Director's Cut" (R18+). The "Director's Cut" version is actually the original, uncut R18+ version, not an alternate version as the "Director's Cut" name may imply.[1]

Mrs. Doubtfire[]
In order for the film to receive a PG for its cinema release, the following sexual dialogue had to be removed:[2][3]
- "Little Jacky Horny, the horizontal mambo... the old cunning linguistics"
- "I hope you are up to a little competition - she's got a power tool in the bedroom... it's amazing she hasn't chipped her teeth"

The Hunger Games[]
In order for the film to receive a 12A for its cinema release, following advised cuts for an incomplete version, four scenes focusing on injury detail were edited:[4]
- A sight of blood was made invisible by an artificial shadow cast.
- Focus on "a heavily bloodied knife which is held up following a stabbing" was edited through digital manipulation. Sight of blood splattering (after a male tribute is slashed across the chest) was removed. Additionally, various splashes of blood from stabs by bladed weapons were also edited.
- Edits were made to remove extra focus on bloody wounds.
- A scene in which a blade "is sadistically held to a character's face" was removed from the classified version of the film.
From the British public, the film generated 43 complaints about the film classification, mainly for its violence and theme.

The Woman in Black[]
In order for the film to receive a 12A for its cinema release, scenes of strong violence and horror had to be reduced:[5]
- Six seconds of footage was completely cut off. These were the strongest moments of violence, horror, or threat.
- Shots were darkened to limit the impacts. Sharp sounds during jump scares were also toned down. For example, the second clap of thunder was omitted from the soundtrack.
- The scene of a hanging woman in black was removed. The scream of a dead son, covered in mud, had its loudness reduced.
- Lucy drops an oil lamp at her feet, setting fire to herself. The scenes of Lucy engulfed in flames and Arthur recoiling in shock were cut.
- Several stronger scenes were visually edited to darken them, reducing the impact.
- Around 78 minutes into the film, Nate is seen lying on a bed. Shots of Nate's partially decayed face were artificially darkened. Another scene showing Nate lying on bed also got the same dilemma.
- A shot of Nicholas turning towards his father has been darkened.
- A young girl, with blackened eyes and an injured head, shown standing outside, was also darkened.
134 complaints were filed by cinema-goers who thought the film was too scary for a 12A/12 rating even after the above cuts were made to reduce impact, which led to the BBFC rewriting their rules on horror at categories lower than 15.
