New Zealand uses a variety of complicated ratings.

G-Suitable for all ages.

PG-Parental guidance suggested.

M-Recommended for ages 16 and over.

R13-Restricted to 13 and over.

RP13-Restricted to 13 and over unless accompanied by an adult.

R15-Restricted to 15 and over.

R16-Restricted to 16 and over.

RP16-Restricted to 16 and over unless accompanied by an adult.

R18-Restricted to 18 and over. wikipedia:While You Were Sleeping (film) (1995) was first rated, in New Zealand, R18, due to bad language. A PG-rated copy was also released, but lacks the bad language.

R-Restricted to a certain purpose (doctors).

Objectionable-Banned. Films such as Pink Flamingos, Ken Park, Baise-Moi, and 120 Days of Sodom.
