The United States pay television content advisory system is a rating system used for pay television channels like HBO, Cinemax, Showtime (now branded as Paramount+ with Showtime), The Movie Channel, MGM+ (formerly known as Epix), Flix, Starz, Starz Encore and MoviePlex. It uses both the Motion Picture Association and TV Parental Guidelines combined.
Advisory labels[]
Instead of using the labels by the two rating system, there is the other advisory labels to the rating. They are:
- AC - Adult Content (drug use, crude humor, sexual dialogue, etc.)
- AL - Adult Language
- GL - Graphic Language
- MV - Mild Violence
- V - Violence
- GV - Graphic Violence
- BN - Brief Nudity
- N - Nudity
- SC - Strong Sexual Content
- RP - Rape
